4 June - Ft. Carson Soldiers deploying, Colorado Springs, CO
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend the deployment of Ft. Carson-based soldiers heading overseas in support of the Global War on Terrorism. This mission will consist of 2 parts, first we will greet the soldiers as they arrive to the mission location and "lock down" with them as they prepare for deployment. We will then form an honor line as they depart the facility and board the plane.
Staging for this mission will be the head of the Air Cargo access road (On the south side of the main entry into the Colorado Springs airport about 1 mile east of Powers) at 1645 (4:45pm) with departure to the mission area NLT 1700.
Please note that you will be riding onto an active military installation, so all ride requirements (Long Sleeves, DOT-approved helmet, over the ankle boots, full-fingered gloves & reflective vest) must be met if you are on 2 or 3 wheels. Also note that the road leading up to the facility is rather chunky gravel, making large bikes unwieldy, so please use caution if you decide to ride.
Ride Captain to be Determined
Thank you.
