I have recently spoken to the CAO. He will be meeting with the family soon. I have passed along our condolences and provided him with the PGR web site address and mentioned all the condolences for the family.

I have been in contact with two family friends who have expressed what David means to them and their concerns for the family and to say what a great family this is. If we are given permission to attend, I would ask we show all involved what David means to all of us.
I also received an email today from a mother that has a son serving in Iraq, her son knew David. She has asked that the assigned ride captain pass along to the family a letter from her. I have told her we would be glad to do this and I have even asked she consider doing this herself if we learn the family wants us to attend..

To the Family of Sgt. David T. Weir:
May your hearts be comforted and his soul be at peace. He has my thanks and respect for his dedication and bravery that cost him the ultimate sacrifice, a price that has been paid to ensure that our freedom endures. May God Bless you all!!
I know this is a terrible loss to your family and I grieve with you, If it weren’t for brave men that were willing to stand up for what they believe in, then all would be lost. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you,
Jesus Christ and the American G. I.
One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.
Standing by in Mooresville NC to honor this fallen brother.

While waiting to hear the family wishes from the CAO. Knowing the family has publicly stated their request for a private funeral service . We should prepare for this to be their final wishes.

I encourage those that want to pay their respects attend the memorial planned for Wednesday night. This appears to be an outstanding display of Honor & Respect for David, the family. So please don't miss the opportunity to express your heartfelt care and concern for our Fallen Soldier.

We can take the time to get an itinerary put together for staging and meeting locations.

20 Sep 2006 8:01 PM Alert

My wife and I attended the Memorial for Sgt Weir tonight.
There was a great turnout by the city, county and surounding communities.
I wish everyone could have heard the speakers, teachers, niece, bestfriend and brother tell about Sgt David Weir's life and what kind of Patriotic young man he was and is today.
This young man at an early age showed a dedication to his family and country that would inspire us all.
This was indeed a man every one of us would have liked to call "friend".
I would like to post the words his brother Chris spoke if I can get a copy of them and his permission.
It was a message for all Americans to hear and heed.
Thanks to the Patriot Guard Riders that turned out in tribute for this young man and his family.
Good to see you again Grizlee and meet Hollywood, BigG and the rest.
Now to go to bed and Pray for our Military in the field.

Goodnight
Mike

Praise the Lord,

I have heard back from the CAO. The family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the services. I will be contacting a few ride captains along with the Georgia State Captain.
It is my understanding the family is very excited about our wanting to attend and the fact we (PGR) will be there.
Want to add that there are family friends that are also PGR members so please, let us serve the family and family friends along with the community well.

This will be moved to Confirmed Missions

It saddens me to see another family mourn the loss of a loved one.
Please know my prayers and thoughts are with you and all of Sgt. Weir's friends.
I have read the fine things that everyone has said about the young man, it is evident he was loved by all.
Surely, God has a place for him close to His side in Heaven.
May you find some comfort in his memories in this time of grief.
May God bless you all.

This young man was by his own love of country and family destined to follow in his father’s footsteps to stand up for what is right and not cower in the face of our enemies.
It would be an Honor to give but a brief moment in time to pay my respect to such a man.
May Almighty God shower his family with Love, Peace and understanding during this time of such great loss.

I hope everyone has spread the word to family and friends about this up coming mission, to invite them to come and support the mission. This family along with many others have suffered a great loss. We all have lost a Soldier.
It is very important that we stand tall each day of the services for this Fallen Soldier, the family and friends. We should demonstrate our love and support to those closely involved.

Now, with this said. I challenge the PGR members, Cleveland Community to stand tall, reflect how Patriotic we are.
I invite any none PGR member that is in attendance to come and stand along side of us both days of service. So if anyone has family and friends that wish to attend with you, please let them know their welcome and thank them for me for coming.
