Joe,  meeting at the gas station at 1600 - 1630 sounds good. If you don't mind, can I call you later for an update? I'm delivering in Sheboygan, Wi. at 0900, maybe earlier, and should take 1 -2 hours there, and 2 - 3 hours back. I won't have access to the forums at all. Thanks.

Mike

Are there details for the escort mission today. I hadn't planned on it but if it is in the evening, I can meet up with the Gaurd at O'hare. I plan on coming out Friday evening and being there on Saturday. I just need the details so I can plan accordingly.

Thank you PO1 Tharp for my liberties and freedom. You shall always live on in the great things you have accomplished through your sacrifice.

Princeton to Aledo portion of the escort - At last count we have at least 30 riders collecting in Princeton for this leg of the escort. We have no idea how many will carry over from the Chicago to Princeton leg. This is a lot of machines and people to get organized and ready to roll. Your attention to detail will be appreciated. These are the final times and details that I will post for the escort from Princeton.

The flight containing Petty Officer Tharp's remains should land at O'Hare about 6:30 PM.

The Tharp family plans to arrive in Princeton at 7:30 - 8:00. I will be present to show them into the private area of the restaurant.

Ed will call me when he receives the hearse in Park Ridge. Expect to see the escort arrive in Princeton less than 2 hours from this call. This should be in the 8:30 to 9:00 PM range. WE MUST GIVE THE FAMILY SOME PRIVATE TIME AT THIS POINT. As usual DIGNITY and RESPECT are required. Figure on kickstands up 30 minutes after the hearse arrives in Princeton. No problem if the family needs more time.

I would like to have all PGR escort riders present in Princeton no later than 8:00 PM. Get fueled and collect where you see the other bikes on the west edge of the parking area. I will make announcements, designate the 8-10 lead bikes and get back to the family to move things forward. Max and others will assist any late arrivals to get in line as Mike and I work with the family and the various LEOs.

Be prepared for a long and hot ride. Let's make it a safe one too.

Just got confirmation that I will be able to make the meet at the Phillips 66 station at IL-62 & IL-25 in Algonquin at 1415 with Big Joe, et.al. Then the first leg of escort.

Depending on several factors, I may continue on the second leg of the escort. Does anyone have a suggestion for lodging either in the Aledo area or not too far back up US-67 toward I-280?

Thanks Ed - make me look like an idiot - while I'm typing mine you read my mind...  :^))

See you this afternoon.

Actually he's using the keylogging software to see what you are typing (j/k)

TBH, there really isn't a whole lot of lodging other than small B&Bs like Ed found when you're west of I-74 over to the river unless you go down to Galesburg or up to the Cities.

Muscatine, IA has some lodging - the Holiday Inn on US61 just north of town comes to mind .
