Volunteered for US Army March 1971. Basic training at Ft. Campbell, KY.,
AIT at Ft. Gordon, GA. MOS 31M. 1972-1976 served with HHC 11th Air Defense Signal Bn., 32d Army Air Defense Command, in Kaiserslautern and Darmstadt, FRG. Met my wife Aleida when the Army started
integrating women into non traditional MOS. She was 36/72C, Wireman/
Switchboard Operator. She volunteered in 1972. We PCS'd from Germany to Ft. Hood, TX. in 1976, where we both served in 142d Signal Bn., 2d Armored Division, being discharged in 1978. Married since 1974, I'm Pennsy native, she's from Brooklyn, NY. We both continue to serve as DOD employees at the military's largest communications electronics overhaul facility, "overhaulin" some of the gear our warriors depend on.
