Medically Retired from the U.S. Army January 1999 after 17 years of service as a SFC. Over the years I held several MOS but for the most part I worked in Ordnance. I fought the forced retirement for over a year but was considered non-deployable so that was pretty much the end of my career. Up to the time of my injury I had planned on doing a full 30 years.
I finished a B.S. in Accounting while on Active Duty and began working as an Accountant after retiring and returning to Huntsville, AL. Both my Wife and I were originally from Huntsville. As much as I hated leaving the Army it was nice to finally be able to bring my family home.
