The final South Dakota “Honor Flight” of 2009, with a full complement of WWII Veterans, will depart the Sioux Falls Airport on Friday November 13th. The official send off ceremony will begin at 0500 (5:00 a.m.). We will stag inside the main entrance to the airport at 0440 (4:40 a.m.) to distribute flags and then proceed to the baggage claim area for the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony the flag line will then be formed on both sides of the hallway leading to the departure area to help give these Heroes and members of the Greatest Generation a big send off.
On Saturday November 14th we will again stag inside the main entrance to the airport terminal at 2030 (8:30 p.m.) and await the arrival of these Honored Veterans. The flight should arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. All activities will be inside, so weather should not be a problem.
Staging: Friday Nov. 13, 0440 inside main airport entrance.
Saturday Nov. 14, 2030 inside main airport entrance.
Ride Captain will be Gary Miller. Flags will be provided.
Lets honor these special men and women with a great send off.
