*** Updated Staging & Funeral Information *** Please note, the funeral will take place at 11:00 am, this is a change from the orginal posting.
Staging information is as follows: Location: Reedsville Volunteer Fire Dept, Route 7 East in Reedsville, WV. From I-68, take the exit for Route 7 East (exit 4) and go towards Masontown. Stay on Rt 7 after passing through Masontown, and when you get to Reedsville, you will come to a 4-way stop. Turn left, which will still be Rt 7 and the Fire Dept will be on the left about 1/2 mile later. Staging time: 0930, and KSU at 0950. The Morgan Funeral Home (13411 Veteran's Memorial Highway, Reedsville, WV) is the location of the service and is close to the Fire Dept. Service time: 11:00am We will have the flag line in place between 1000-1100, and break down once the service starts. The flag line will re-assemble as the service ends. We will be escorting from the funeral home to the cemetery (about 13-14 miles), so if you are able to safely fly flags from your bike/cage, please be prepared to do so. Final RC assignment has not been made at this time, but District RC Barry Bledsoe has been in contact with the funeral director, and has been coordinating the efforts up to this point.. My family and I wish to send our condolences to the family and friends of Timothy Daff. You are a HERO to our country for standing for our freedom so that we may have the liberties that we enjoy everyday. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. You will NEVER be forgotten.
Our prayers and well wishes go out to your family as they try to get through this grievous time.

For this country, this Warrior has stood the watch.
While some of us were in our beds at night, this Warrior stood the watch.
While some of us were in school learning our trade, this Warrior stood the watch.
Yes, even before some of us were born into this world ... this Warrior stood the watch.
In those years when the storm clouds of war were seen brewing on the horizon of history this Warrior stood the watch.
Many times he would cast an eye home and see his family standing there ... needing his guidance and help ... needing that hand to hold during those hard times ... but he still stood the watch.
He stood the watch for years, He stood the watch so that we, our families, and our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety each and every night knowing that a Warrior stood the watch.
Today we are here to say "Friend, the watch stands relieved. Relieved by those you have led, guided, and trained. You stand relieved. We have the watch.
GOD BLESS!

**********MISSION COMPLETE**********
Today, the weather was a mirror image of the emotions of family and friends who gathered together to remember the life of Timothy Daff. We were honored to meet Mike and Mark Daff, brothers of Tim, although naturally we would have preferred it had been under better circumstances.
I discovered today that I had met Tim years ago, as he had worked at the same EMS station as I do. It wasn't until I verified with his brother, that I knew for sure it had been him. However, based on what I had learned about Tim, it wasn't too surprising, as he apparently was an extremely community minded person. He was involved in EMS and fire activities as well as other community organizations.
There were several troops in attendance from the WV State Police, units from the Preston County Sheriffs Department, and local city police officers as well, including his brother, who is a police officer with the Masontown Police Department. Tim was carried to his final resting place in the Reedsville cruiser, a Dodge Durango.
During the cemetery services, the Preston County Communications Center made a final call for "Unit 41." They called his unit number over the air three times, then asked if anyone had any radio traffic for Unit 41. Nobody answered. Then they stated that "it is with deep regret that Unit 41 has answered his final call."
Losing one of "ours," a fellow first responder, is always hard. But it is obviously harder for his family. Our prayers have and will go out for them for peace during this time. We were honored to answer the call from Tim's brother, a fellow PGR member from Louisanna.
Tim...rest in peace brother. Your shift here is done. Thank you. |

Mr. Daff,
Thank you for your willingness, as a military veteran, to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Thank you also, as a member of the law enforcement/EMS family for your commitment to the community to which you served. Your death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, law enforcement/EMS brothers and sisters, all those who appreciate their safety, all who truly appreciate their freedom, and each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders. We are all proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for in both the military and your community. Your missions are now complete. You are truly an American hero and the community to whom you served, and the world in which we live are safer places because of your commitment as a community servant and to freedom itself. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.
