WE NEED YOUR HELP ASAP
WE NEED PONY EXPRESS MESSENGERS
WE NEED AMERICAN LEGION POST SPONSORS
TO ACT AS PONY EXPRESS STATIONS
Volunteers are asked to become Pony Express Messengers. Anyone is eligible, simply send us your contact email address and wear your Pony Express Badge.
We ask that you also go to at least one American Legion Post in your area and ask them to sponsor the Pony Express as a Pony Express Station and send us their contact email address. We believe that each Post should decide their own level of participation, if any, and that they work as a Pony Express Station, a home base, a collecting point for their area To find a Post near you simply go to http://www.legion.org/?content=post_locator and follow the directions.
We are working on web sites that will allow signing up for the Pony Express and downloading Plan information. We'll keep you posted on our progress. For now go to www.alr135.org and click on the Pony Express button. You will find a link to download the Pony Express package of information that includes the Texas Ride Plan, sample press release, badge design, and promotional flyers for any post to use in their Pony Express planning for their local area and state. Please adopt this plan, made for Texas, to fit your particular needs. Only the package, as one document, need be sent out.
We believe we are setting in motion a historic project that will capture the imaginations of all Americans and impact the lives of our troops, veterans, and their families for years to come. We want you to be part of this.
