Edward M Carbajal, a United States Army Veteran, proudly served his country from 1967 to 1969. While in service to his country he achieved the rank of Specialist 4 working in Field Artillery. He earned many medals and commendations to include the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with the 60 Device, 2 Overseas Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge, Army Commendation Medal with the V Device / Oak Leaf Cluster. Specialist 4 Carbajal’s final duty station was Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he was honorably discharged on October 3, 1969. He later transferred to the United States Army Reserve and served in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was an active member in both the VFW Post 836 and the American Legion Post 16.
It is our honor to stand in silent reverence as we honor and respect the sacrifices this hero made for our nation.

Cochise County Sheriff’s Office – Special Assist Team will lead the escort into Sierra Vista and has protocol and procedures in place for us to follow.
Immediately following the briefing we will escort our hero and family to the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel Area for 9:00 a.m. Military Honors.
