You may remember this veteran of two wars, Pharmacist Mate3 Floyd Lee Brantley. He was honored with a “drive by birthday party” in October of 2022 when he was 97. Now at the age 101 he has been chosen to be one of 25 WWII veterans to have a trip to France and see the sights there to include those places where the world was changed or saved by many young men his age, at the time only teenagers and early 20s.
PGR has been asked to provide transportation to the airport.
Floyd dropped out of school to go and “fight”. Joining the Navy to do just that, he was sent to medical training and ended up as a pharmacy mate. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars, the UN Service Medal and the American Campaign. After his tour in the Navy, he joined the Air force then the Air National Guard where he attained the rank of Captain.
