Don joined the Army in 1974, where he served as a Tactical Wiring Operations Specialist. After his time in the service, he attended Morrison Technical Institute. Don was also recognized as Valedictorian of his graduating class. In 1979, he began work as a Manager at Sandia Laboratories where he specialized in Weapons Defense Systems; retiring in 2022. During his leisure time, Don was an avid lover of woodworking and auto repair.
