Retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Steven Michael Lawrence enlisted in the US Army 09/29/1973 in 1973 he attended a three-week course Ordnance Officer Basic Course, in 1974 Lawrence took part in two courses an eleven-week course Mechanical Maintenance, and a three-week course Airborne. 1976 took a five-week course in Aerial Delivery and Materiel Officer Course. 1978 he took a twenty-seven-week course Ordnance Officer Corps. In 1979 Lawrence took a ten-week course in Battalion Coordinating Staff Officers. Lawrence received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Serving on active and reserve duty for twenty-two years. In 1985 he was trained as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Defense Logistic. Lawrence served his country for thirty-seven years. traveling overseas for ten of those years. Discharged from the United States Army 8/20/1984 then continued his military career in the United States Army Reserve where he retired 12/29/1995. During his time in service earning the following: National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, (2) Overseas Service Ribbons, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and a Parachute Badge.
