Honor Mission
William “Willard” Zahler , Veteran
USMC – Vietnam
Bluffton, South Carolina – 11-04-21
ABOUT THE MISSION:
Mr. Zahler served our Nation for 11 years in the US Marine Corps including 2 tours in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge from the Marines as a Staff Sergeant. Following his training in the military, Willard worked as a master electrician. He had a love for riding his motorcycle and those he became friends with through riding. One of his high points in riding was meeting his wife to be at the Daytona Bike week in 1996. Willard was a proud member of the Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets MC, Ga. He was very active in the community with the Boy Scouts and worked for motorcyclists’ rights with SC ABATE. Willard held several offices with SC ABATE including chapter coordinator of Jasper-Beaufort ABATE as well as Area Coordinator for Southern Low Country ABATE. As Area Coordinator he represented the ABATE members of Colleton County, Jasper-Beaufort, and Ace Basin ABATE chapters. Willard will be missed by many of us who knew him as a friend and brother.
