About the Mission:

CPO Jakl joined the Navy in 1957 and retired in 1977. He served in Vietnam and was an ABH – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Aircraft Handling) aboard the USS Constellation CV-64 (2 tours) and USS New Orleans LPH-11 as Flight Deck Chief. He was the Chief of the 32nd St. Firefighting School at Navy Base San Diego, and subsequently retired from the Federal Fire Department which provides Fire Department Services on military bases. CPO Jakl received 4 Good Conduct Medals.
