 Our Mission Minimize

Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

  1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
  2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you.  We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

We would like to offer a new LDF fundraiser in the form of the patch pictured here.  For a minimum of a $10 donation, this patch will be delivered to you.  We have purchased this patch directly and will distribute them the same way, ensuring that 100% of the proceeds go to fund the Patriot Guard Riders.  To help us minimize costs by avoiding PayPal fees, we prefer that orders be made by sending a check or money order using the mailing address below.  Please indicate LDF in the memo on your check or money order.  If you prefer to use PayPal, after making the transaction; please send a confirmation email to the PGR Treasurer, Jim Grant, and reference the PayPal account and name, along with mailing directions.

Dear Fellow Patriots,

As you have probably noticed by now there is a new button on the home page just below the navigation pane on the left hand side. This button will enable you to make a donation to our Legal defense fund. It's labeled Defense Fund, as not to confuse it with the “Donate To PGR” button below it. This is a PayPal account and 100% of donations will go to pay our legal costs for the trademark issue. Our leadership was truly hoping it would not come to this, but they need your assistance in keeping the “Patriot Guard Riders” in the possession of its members, not one person. The board has tried at length to negotiate this issue, but their efforts have fallen on deaf ears and are left no other option but to follow all legal avenues available to them.

This is not something the BOD asks lightly. Our members already pay all of their own expenses to honor the fallen, to attend every mission. They pay for the privilege to ride in the rain or in the cold, and the Board of Directors does not wish to further add to their burden. Since the PGR is a 100% volunteer organization, it counts on donations from members and other concerned citizens to help keep us up and running.

If it appears the donations are approaching the amount of the legal costs, the button will go away. We don't want to raise one extra penny this way; our members give so much already.

**NOTE: Any amount raised in excess of the legal fees will be given to the HOTH program.

PGR Challenge Coins for Wounded Warriors

The PGR is proud to announce program available to all members to sponsor challenge coins that are being hand delivered to our soldiers that are recovering from injuries in the Critical Care VA facilities. NEVER TOO EARLY TO MAIL 2 by jayhill111

NEVER TOO EARLY TO MAIL
OVERSEAS HOLIDAY MAILING DATES SET
It’s never too early to begin planning for overseas holiday mailings. And with thousands of American troops and civilians stationed around the world, the coming weeks will be a busy time for mailing international and military parcels, cards and packages.

To ensure delivery of holiday cards and packages by Dec. 25 to military APO/FPO addresses overseas, the Postal Service recommends that mail for service members be sent no later than the military mailing deadlines. For example, the recommended mailing date for the most economical postage to overseas military installations, including Iraq and Afghanistan, is Nov. 13.

note 1:    EMMS: Express Mail Military Service is available to selected military post offices. Check with your local Post Office to determine if this service is available to your APO/FPO of address.
note 2:    PAL is a service that provides air transportation for parcels on a space-available basis. It is available for Parcel Post items not exceeding 30 pounds in weight or 60 inches in length and girth combined. The applicable PAL fee must be paid in addition to the regular surface rate of postage for each addressed piece sent by PAL service.
note 3:    SAM parcels are paid at the Parcel Post postage rate with maximum weight and size limits of 15 pounds and 60 inches in length and girth combined. SAM parcels are first transported domestically by surface and then to overseas destinations by air on a space-available basis.

“Mailing holiday gifts to service members early will help ensure that a piece of home arrives in plenty of time to make the celebration complete,” said Pranab Shah, vice president and managing director, Global Business.

To help the families and friends of U.S. military personnel, the Postal Service offers a discount on its largest Priority Mail Flat Rate box. And flat-rate boxes are free at any Post Office, or can be ordered online at The Postal Store. Postage, labels, and customs forms can be printed online any time using Click-N-Ship.

USPS also continues to show support to those serving in the armed forces by offering free Military Care Kits, designed specifically for military families sending packages overseas. The mailing kits can be ordered by phone by calling 1-800-610-8734 and asking for the Care Kit. Each kit includes two “America Supports You” large Priority Mail Flat-Rate boxes, four medium-sized Priority Mail Flat-Rate boxes, six Priority Mail labels, one roll of Priority Mail tape, and six customs forms with envelopes.

Mail addressed to military post offices overseas is subject to certain conditions or restrictions regarding content, preparation and handling. APO/FPO addresses generally require customs forms.

Thanks form JB by jayhill111

Patriot Riders:

Like so many others, I have lost many friends and colleagues in the current conflicts; you have been there for every funeral service--  My first, I remember standing in formation, trying to be strong and look tough, as you all filed in quietly across the street and presented your flags--  I was overwhelmed at the honor of that---  the quiet and remote show of support--no--much more than that--- the show of UNION with us. We, the military, are the wall of protection for the USA, but every now and then when we honor a fallen teammate we want just for a second to be human, vulnerable, and grieving.  It is such an honor to know that when we are in that momentary state, you are there in the defensive perimeter to allow us, just for a moment, to let down our guard.  At my first CONUS funeral, I remember feeling just that when I saw you file in across the street.  You got it-- I can let down for just a moment.  Then recover, and get back in the fight.

Thanks-

JB

Bassman and Marines from Camp Lejeune NC by jayhill111

Marines 9-30-09a.JPG

My husband – Dean Robinson aka Bassman – AL PGR member and Ride Captain - is retired from the US Army, a civilian contractor working for the government, a HERO in my books.  He is currently embedded with a group of Marines from Camp Lejeune stationed in the Helmand Province – Combat Outpost Xxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Afghanistan.  He sent me these pictures this morning of his “group”. The PRG flag they are holding is the very same flag that Rob and I fly on the back of our bike on PGR missions and these fine gentlemen were so excited about it being at their camp.     I just wanted to share with you these photos.

PGR Flag from The Dalles Oregon to Camp Clark Afghanistan by jayhill111
DSC01937 resized.JPG

June 2009, local Patriot Guard Riders hosted a visitation at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles, Oregon.

One of our Riders from Goldendale, Washington had been assigned, as a civilian with the Corp of Engineers to Afghanistan.  While he was home on leave our signed PGR flag was given to him to present to his unit.  In October the flag from the Mid Columbia was presented at Camp Clark, Khost Afghanistan, just 10 miles from the Pakistan border. PGR Garage Sale 2008 by jayhill111

As we accessorize and customize our bikes we all end up with a garage full of parts that collect dust and take up space. We can't bring ourselves to get rid of these items, but we have no good use for them and may never need them again. Well, the PGR now has a need for those items. We need you to go through your garage and DONATE all of your good, clean, unwanted motorcycle accessories/parts to the PGR. We will sell these items on eBay and all proceeds (sales less shipping costs) will be used for the Legal Defense Fund. Motorcycle parts/accessories include pegs, seats, lights, handle bars, grips, kickstands, sissie bars, luggage, bags, mirrors, etc...

Please follow the simple steps listed below should you choose to participate in this event.

Ship your donated item to:

PGR Garage Sale
C/O BTC
900 N. East Ave.
Panama City, Florida 32401

Include a description with all pertinent info such as Part #, Make, Model, and Year if the item is bike specific.

Please include your name and email address as we will email you a receipt for your tax deductible donation. It will be up to each individual contributor to list the value of the donated item(s) on each receipt when received.

Should you have any questions that are specific to this fund raising event please email them to: pgrldfgaragesale@gmail.com
