Cameron R. Girvin and Christopher M.L. Reese, KIA

Virginia Beach, Virginia – February 28, 2025

About the Mission:

Virginia Beach Police Officers Cameron Girvin and Christopher Reese dedicated their lives to upholding the safety and well-being of others.
Officer Cameron Girvin graduated from VBPD’s 68th Police Academy and was sworn in as a certified officer on June 19, 2020. He was 25 years old.
Officer Christopher Reese was a member of the 72nd Police Academy and was sworn in as a certified officer on July 29, 2022. He was 30 years old.
These officers were not just members of the VBPD; they were family, friends, and heroes.
Their sacrifice is a painful reminder of the daily dangers our officers face and their unwavering commitment to serve with honor and integrity.
The Patriot Guard Riders will stand in silent honor for Cameron and Christopher, their families, Fellow Officers and the community they served. We will not forget their service and sacrifice.
We ask the community to keep these officers, their families, friends, and fellow officers in your thoughts and prayers.

Instructions:

Brief at 5:30 PM
Post two PGR at entrance to Altmeyer for 10-15 Minute shifts. We need as many PGR who can show up.
Visitation is from 6:00 PM- 9:00 PM.

We will Stand a silently at the entrance.
Shirt color of the day is Blue if you have one. Button down shirts or polos would be appropriate.
If you have black pants, please consider wearing but not required.

NO ONE IS TO APPROACH THE FAMILIES, OFFICERS or MEDIA. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Direct any inquires to the listed Ride Captains please.

Flags will be provided.
Large Bike Flags will not be needed.
Water will not be provided, please bring your own.

 

Stage 2 Details:
March 1, 2025 — 12:30 PM
Rock Church – Kempsville High School Parking lot – behind the Rock Church parking lot off Chief Trail

Brief 1250 PM
Set the SILENT flag line at 100
Service for both officers starts at 200PM
Shirt color of the day is Blue if you have one. Button down shirts or polos would be appropriate.
If you have black pants, please consider wearing but not required.
NO ONE IS TO APPROACH THE FAMILIES, OFFICERS or MEDIA. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Direct any inquires to the listed Ride Captains please.
We will stand a flag line from 100 PM to the start of the service at 200 PM.
For those who can stay, we will reset the flag line at the conclusion of the service.

There are a lot of moving pieces and we have to be flexible and follow the directions of the VBPD Liaison.

  2. The heartbreak is immense. Our Sincere condolences go out to the families of Cam and Chris. Our son was good friends with Cam and his wife and we met them at one of his pool parties. We are still processing this loss. May the many memories of your time together and love shared comfort you now and in the days ahead. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  3. Deepest condolences to the families, fellow officers, friends, and neighbors of these two outstanding law enforcement officers of the Virginia Beach Police Department. Their loss is being felt by the entire community. May God watch over the family and comfort them in this time of great sorrow, and in the days, weeks, and years ahead. May these two officers be remembered always for their courage and their commitment to keeping Virginia Beach a safe community for all. May they rest in eternal peace. Amen.
