James “Jug” Lavoy Tipton, 76, of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on February 10, 2026, at his home. Jug was born on July 5, 1949, in Carlisle, Arkansas. He joined the United States Army in 1969, serving Honorably as an 11B Infantryman, with one tour in Vietnam, earning the rank of SGT. Medals and Awards received: National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star; Combat Infantrymans Badge; Army Commendation Medal. After his military service, Jug worked for NAPA in Stuttgart and Carlisle for many years, retiring in 2022. Jug is survived by his wife of 47 years, two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one sister, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly.
